The presentation will show the work of en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Geographical coordinates and present the results of this data extraction: de:Wikipedia:WikiProjekt_Georeferenzierung/Wikipedia-World/en The Wikipedia-World project is a project of the lecturer and use the interwikilinks to bring the coordinates to more than 270 languages.

The presentation will also give a short introduction to the work of commons:Commons:Geocoding.

After this the talk will speak about the future of geocoding inside Wikipedia. How can we geocode complex objects in wikipedia and show them on a map? The solution seems the cooperation with OpenStreetMap and interfaces like that of Query-to-map.

If there is time and no other place for it on wikimania, the presentation will also show the first results of the Wikipedia-OpenStreetMap-cooperation.
