Accommodation
Gdańsk is currently developing its accommodation infrastructure as part of the city's preparations for the UEFA Euro 2012 football matches. New hotels are constantly being built, some of them in the immediate vicinity of the Philharmonic. The total target number of hotels for the city is 47.
The centre of Gdańsk hosts five dormitories, all of which can accommodate over 600 people. Six hostels located in the city centre can provide beds for over 400 people. These are in addition to the eight downtown hotels of varying standards.
Also, as Gdańsk is a popular tourist destination for Polish and foreign visitors, there is a well developed infrastructure of private flats and rooms for short-term sublet.
Accommodation procedure
Every Wikimania-visitor can choose a lodging (Hotel, Hostel...) and a type of room (single, double...) at the upcoming application-form. Special wishes and reservations ahead of the venue-application please send to mailto:anna@wikimania2010.pl . The accommodation-team is responsible for booking the rooms and allocate the roomnumbers to the visitors. In every location there will be contact-persons to help the visitors for further queries.
The number of the beds are located on a allocation-dedicated subsite and will be striked from accommodation-registrar if the bed or the room is occupied. Alle private dates are rigouros locked.
The listed locations are not at all the final allocations which are reserved for the venue, but at this we know the exact assignement of beds to room.
