Talk:Madness
30-second talk preview
Preview in what form: several slides in SVG? Animated GIF? Video file with audio? In what resolution? Incnis Mrsi 13:47, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
OK, I realized that the question above was a bit silly. It is expected that an author will speak himself. But what about visual data indeed, will a video projector translate it? Incnis Mrsi 15:57, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have got the question, but we will only discuss it on Tuesday, and even then it may depend on some details. I will get back as soon as we know smth--Yaroslav Blanter 20:42, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Accepted. I will expect further clarification in the Madness page. Incnis Mrsi 21:01, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- We have decided it will be purely oral, no slides. Slides can be shown in the talk, and it is not practical to have them in a 30-second presentation. The clarification will be posted shortly on the Madness page.--Yaroslav Blanter 15:47, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

lightning talks as well?
It would be great to do this for open space talks as well, or any potential topic.
'Lightning talks' are sometimes quick summaries of topics that only have 2 minutes to say about them, by poeple who want to catch up with the 1 or 2 interested folks over lunch but don't have a slot on the schedule. They are often longer than the madness talks; say 90-120 seconds, with time for one question... but you can generally get 20 of them into an hour.
This was a very popular part of wikimanias for a few years (maybe 06/07/08?) but didn't happen last year. Sj 23:22, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
