Before creating new language categories, search ISO 639 codes and IANA language subtags to make sure that the language exists. If it has no standard code but is a real language, use its full name or an obvious abbreviation of more than three letters.

Choose the code to use in this order: ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2, ISO 639-3, IANA subtags, or invented (4 or more letters). You can often find the ISO 639 codes by searching Wikipedia for its article.
