Abstract

This presentation updates on last years presentation about the state of the Book Tool. In the meantime the tool was deployed on all major language versions of Wikipedia - including the English Wikipedia lately. The talk starts with a short introduction to the tool and briefly summarizes the improvements that happened during the last year, like the GUI-update, the suggestion tool, custom covers, addition of a 'Book:'-Namespace, etc. It will further give some insight on community and visitor adoption of the tool, backed by statistics. The focus of the presentation will be on upcoming developments like cross-wiki collections, a way to patch articles w/o modifying them to be more suitable to books, another remake of the UI and the catalog.

Note: Please write me if you are missing any interesting aspect in the outline and I'll happily add it.
